Bruce R. Loomis, age 86 passed away on March 10, 2017. He was born in Massillon on February 05, 1931 to the late Harry and Clara (Beazell) Loomis. He married Virginia Volk on September 11, 1959 and they shared 49 years together until her passing on May 15, 2008. Bruce served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked at Superior Brand Meats for 28 years as a meat cutter until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, watching the news and most especially watching his grandchildren play sports and taking them out to eat after the games. He was proud of his granddaughter Samantha's academic achievements and Mitchell and Sara athletic achievements. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Rick and Jennifer Loomis; his grandchildren Samantha, Mitchell and Sara; his sister Margaret as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Nancy Diglaw; his brothers Neil, Hollis, Robert, Larry, Arthur, Tom and Jerry. A Celebration of Bruce's life will be held at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 12 noon. Pastor Kenny Thomas will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am until the time of the service.
