Bruce R. Schrader, 87, of Massillon, passed away on February 21, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on September 6, 1933 in Massillon to the late Joseph and Sylvia (Akin) Schrader. In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his brother Howard “Skip” Schrader. He was a 1951 graduate of Jackson High School. Bruce then proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. A few years after returning home from the service, Bruce married the love of his life, Lorrine Ritter, on September 6, 1959 and they shared 61 wonderful years together. Bruce was very dedicated to his family and his work ethic never went unnoticed. He was always working two jobs to make sure they were taken care of. His primary job was with RBC Tyson Bearing where he worked as a receiving clerk for 33 years before retiring. But even after his retirement and even up until his 80’s, Bruce continued to work and held many jobs such as a custodian for Jackson High School and owner of his own carry out/drive thru and later a restaurant/ ice cream stand. Bruce will be deeply missed by his wife Lorrine Schrader; daughter Tami (Dean) Morgan and son Bruce (Dirk) Schrader; grandsons Ryan (Rachel) and Trevor Morgan; and great-grandchildren Harper and Greyson. The family will receive friends on Wednesday the 24th from 6-8 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with calling hours beginning at 10 a.m. Final resting place will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park where military rites will be rendered.
