Bruce P. Herron, 81, of Navarre, passed away on December 1, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born on December 21, 1935 in Belington, West Virginia to the late Charles and Rosetta (Yeager) Herron. Bruce proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married MaryAnn Mattevi on May 12, 1956. They shared 61 loving years together. Bruce retired at Gregory Galvanizing where he had 38 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon as well as the VFW Post 3124. Bruce loved art, working on watch and clock repairs and animals, especially his furry companion Jake. He also loved travelling and going on cruises with his family. His greatest passion in life was being a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife MaryAnn; daughters Joyce (Peter) Snyder, Kathy (Ken) Koontz, and Anita (Doug) Morris; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister RuthAnn Blosser of Fairmont, West Virginia. In addition to his parents, Bruce was also preceded in death by his twin brother Bernard Herron, as well as 4 other brothers, 5 sisters and granddaughter Gracie. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Gretchko officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Massillon where military rites will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Restoration, 206 Cherry Rd NE, Massillon, OH 44646 OR the Rhoda Wise Shrine, 2337 25th St NE, Canton, OH 44705.
