Bruce L. Gallagher, 71, of Jackson Township, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020. Bruce was born on March 16, 1949 in Massillon, the son of the late Pete and Eva (Roehlig) Gallagher. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1968 graduate of Timken High School. Bruce worked for Republic Steel and retired after 47 years of service. He truly enjoyed going to NHRA Drag races and had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was also a true Massillon Tiger’s fan. Bruce was a member of First Baptist Church in Massillon. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Tim Jones and his sister, Kaye Martin. He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy (O’Neal) Gallagher whom he shared 32 years of marriage; children, Bonnie (Joe) Pape, Sandy Gallagher, and Bruce L. (Lisa) Gallagher, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Pam Davis; grandchildren, Nick Jones, Tanner Jones, Briyanna Davis, and Christopher Davis; brother, Gary (Margo King) Gallagher; and his furry companion, Roscoe. A Celebration of Bruce’s life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 7 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. His pastor, Dr. Roger Alber will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 p.m. before the service. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are also strongly encouraged. If you are not feeling well, or if you have compromised immune system, you are encouraged to stay home.
