Bruce F. Bleichrodt Sr., age 75 of Canal Fulton, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his family. Bruce was born on August 17, 1935 in Wadsworth the son of the late Fred and Mary (Lamm) Bleichrodt. He attended Cleveland State and graduated from Kent State in 1959 with a degree in teaching. Bruce retired from Continental Tire in 1994 where he worked as a chemist in research and development. He loved his farm, outdoors and was an avid Indian Artifact hunter. He was also a member of the Church of Christ in Massillon. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Marcia J. Pettis. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Shirley (DiCicco) Bleichrodt whom he married on February 3, 1990; his children, Denise (Larry) Bleichrodt-Fox, Bruce (Dawn) Bleichrodt, Jr., Lori (Ronald) Wietecha and Brett (Phoebe) Bleichrodt; his step-children, Ellen (David) Evans, Dana (Greg) Jones and David (Marianne) DiCicco; his brothers, Olin (Margaret) and David (Kathy) Bleichrodt; 5 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of Christ in Massillon, Glenn Hawkins will be officiating. Friends may gather at the church one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the India Ministry in c/o the Church of Christ.
