Boyd E. Harvey Jr., 72 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 9, 2011, after a courageous battle with Lung and Heart Disease. He was born in Rhodell, West Virginia on May 1, 1939 to the late Boyd E. Harvey Sr. and Ellen Wood Harvey. He married Nancy Strohm in December 1962 and they spent 49 wonderful years together. Boyd was known around Massillon as the “Candy Man” giving out smarties to children and others. He was an avid Tuslaw sports fan. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Massillon, serving as usher for 40 years. A devoted family man and good friend to many, especially at McDonalds. He enjoyed driving and showing his 1965 Ford Mustang convertible. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Steve(Dawn)Harvey, a daughter Cindi (Shawn) Clark, Grandchildren AJ, Mitchell, Ariel Clark, and Brooklyn Harvey plus 3 Step Granddaughters. Great Grandson Trevor Clark. Brothers, John Harvey, Jerry(Linda)Harvey, Clyde(Sandy)Harvey, and Doug(Debbie)Harvey. Sisters, Margie Wilhelm, Dorothy Jennings, Garnett Pappas, Gaynell Linkous, Martha(Bob) Lane,Maxine Selogy, and Shirley Donze. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Lonniel, Jack, Frank, Elgie, and Larry Harvey. Funeral Services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Massillon at 11AM on Thursday, July 14, 2011. Dr. Roger Alber officiating. Visitation will be held at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Wednesday July 13, 2011, from 5 to 8PM and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Donations can be made in Boyd’s Memory to the First Baptist Church of Massillon, 20 - 6th Street SE, Massillon, OH 44646
