Bonnie “Bird” L. Burton, age 80 of North Canton, passed away on, Wednesday, December 29, 2021. He was born on April 20, 1941, to the late Oscar and Annie Mae (Moyer) Burton in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. He married Gardenia Strozier on May 14, 1994, and they shared 27 years together until his passing. Bonnie served his country in the U.S. Army. After military service he worked for R.L. Lipton until his retirement. He was a diehard Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan, enjoyed bowling and going to Auto Shows. Bonnie never knew a stranger and was known for his kindness. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Gardenia; his children Tanya (Jimmy) Smith, Darnae (Keeya) Langford, and Janae Langford; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers Richard (Mary Lee) Burton and Freddy (Frances) Burton and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. A Celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon at 10:30a.m and will be livestreamed. Interment will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in recognition of his honorable and faithful service to his country.
