Blanche M. Gleason, age 71 of Massillon, passed away Wednesday December 7, 2005 at the Massillon Community Hospital. Blanche was born April 6, 1934 in Canton to Antonio & Blanche (Arias) Regueira. She graduated from Washington High School in 1952. Blanche was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the CM-AR Society of the church, and the Cursillo Movement. She had a life long interest in music and singing. Her activities included Massillon Community Singers, Cardinal Chapter of the Sweet Adelines, the Lincoln Ladies, and the Canton City of Flags Chapter of Sweet Adelines. Blanche’s love, quiet strength and infinite patience instilled a sense of purpose and love in her children which enabled them to make their own music in life. Blanche’s dedication to her own children brought her the joy of being present at the birth of each of her fifteen grandchildren. She in turn established a unique bond with and derived great joy from each grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father Antonio Regueira in 1991 and an infant brother Anthony. Blanche is survived by: Husband Dennis Gleason with whom she shared 51 years of marriage on August 28th. Children and Spouses Pat Gleason of Bremerton, WA Michael (Charise) Gleason of Stone Mountain, GA Tim (Tracy) Gleason of Bremerton, WA Tom (Elizabeth) Gleason of Columbus, OH Sean (Cynthia) Gleason of Rochester, NY Mary Kay (Charles) Ruck of Corona del Mar, CA Diane (Timothy) Wright of South Bend, IN Mother Blanche Regueira of Canton Sister Beatrice Kintz of Canton Grandchildren: Shannon, Sean Michael, Mallory, Jake, Dennis, Charles, Margaret, Sean Anthony, Quinn, Aerin, Abby, Emma, Henry, Josette, & Agatha. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Monday at St. Jospeh Catholic Church in Massillon, her pastor Fr. Raymond Paul will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2-5 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Donations can be made to either Stark County VNS & Hospice, or St. John’s Villa in Carrolton.
