On May 26, 2023, Billie L. Bodiford, age 88, went peacefully home to the Lord, with her family surrounding her. She was borm on March 21, 1935 in Massillon, Ohio. The daughter of Cora (Buggs) Tome and Thomas J. Reid. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Cora (Buggs) Tome and Thomas J. Reid; husband Lowery Bodiford; grandmother Mary Forte; sister Janet Earley; and daughter Toni J. Trammell.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved spending every spare moment with her great and great-great grandchildren. She was always very loved. She was a lifetime member of Friendship Baptist Church where she served as an usher, sang in choir, and worked in their pantry. She was employed at the Massillon State Hospital, Apple Creek, Ekco, and Sheetz. She also helped at Brooks Funeral Home. She loved working and staying busy. She will be missed so dearly by family and friends.
Billie is survived by her grandchildren, Antoinette (Peaches) Trammell and Darrell Trammell, both of Massillon; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Tabitha, Natasha, DoRean, DeOndre, T'Kaiyah, Lanae, Krye and Marlon; great-great-grandchildren, NaZiyah, Camariana, Chance, Estonia, X'Zavier and Samaya, all of which called her "gram"; special friend and in-law, David Cargill; special niece and nephew, Carol (Grady Robinson and Michael (Velma) Pruitt; Along with family in Michigan, Paula, Ava, Avie, Barbara, Viron, and Maryann.
A home going celebration will be held on June 9, 2023 at Friendship Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:00am with a service following at 11:00am.
Billie will be laid to rest with her husband Lowery, at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery.
