Betty R. Shammo

Betty R. Shammo, age 73 of Dalton, Ohio, died on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. She was born on August 8, 1935 in North Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Perry and Wilma Becker. She was a lifelong area resident. She was the treasurer of the East Greenville school reunion. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Shammo, her brothers, Charles “Bud” Becker, Jim Becker and Ken Becker and her sister Thelma Nussbaum. She is survived by her children, George (Pam) Shammo II of Massillon, Tamala Weaver of Canton and Bryan (fiancé Amy) Shammo of Dalton, her grandson, Jason L. (Samantha) Weaver of Hawaii, her sisters, Katie Cunningham and Shirley Heitger and her brother Paul Becker. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Pastors Harry and Mary Lou Merryman officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.
