Betty 'Milliken' Shanklin

Betty L. (Milliken) Shanklin, age 76, of Massillon passed away February 21, 2015 at Amherst Meadows. Betty was born May 15, 1938 in Canton to the late Harry & Alice (Metzger) Milliken. She was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School. For eighteen years she was employed at Doctors Hospital as a cardiac technician. Betty will be remembered as a giving person. She was concerned about the welfare of others, and how she could help them. A spring time activity she dearly loved was to go hunting 'mushrooms' in the woods. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons Billy and Michael. Betty shared 57 years of marriage with her husband Larry Shanklin; they have three children: Steven (Pamela) Shanklin, Laura (Ron) Pribula and Ron Shanklin. Betty's brother is William (Nevelee) Milliken. They have six grandchildren: Stephanie, Jacob, Lucas, Michael, Samantha & Brittany and five great grandchildren, Aubriana, Connor, Lexane, Amiya and Landon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Friday at St. Barbara's Catholic Church. Her final resting place will be St. Barbara's Cemetery. Memorial can be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
