Betty M Smith

Betty M. Smith, age 77 of Massillon went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 22, 2020. She was born in West Helena, Arkansas on April 30, 1942 to the late Sylvester and Irene (Jones) Smith. She was a 1960 graduate of Washington High School. Betty retired as a Therapy Program Worker for Apple Creek. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Betty enjoyed gardening, watching television and movies, solving puzzles, was a voracious reader, and loved people and never met a stranger. Most of all Betty loved watching her kids, grandkids and great grandkids grow up. She will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Lanece (David) Williams; her son Ebon (Desaray) Smith; her grandchildren Marquis, Robbie, Sierra, Ebon Jr. Imani, Skylar, Egypt, Treyvon, Maliyah and Emari; her great-grandchildren Xavier, Aiva, Christian, Raine, Skye, Icy, Mi’auni, Hailo, Liam and Amora; her sisters Alean Castellanos, Asrean (Al) Pierce, Sylvia Smith, Annette Gardener, Diana Smith and Rhonda Smith; her brothers Robert (Debra)Smith, Danny (Cynthia) Smith and Lawrence Smith, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Deborah Smith and her brother David Smith. A Homegoing Celebration will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11 A.M. Reverend Robert Williams will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home from 10a.m. until 11:00a.m. Burial will follow at Massillon Cemetery. Paquelet Funeral Home & Crematory- 330-833-3222
