Betty L Brownlee

Betty Louise Brownlee, 80, of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord, on June 7, 2019. She was born on May 20, 1939 in New Philadelphia, Ohio to the late Robert and Clara (Yosick) Hency. Betty was a 1957 graduate of of Washington High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1960 where she earned her degree as a registered nurse. After completing her education and training, Betty worked as a nurse at Massillon Community Hospital for many years and before retiring, she worked for Hometown Health Plan. Being a nurse was one of her proudest accomplishments. Betty was also a lifelong member of Canton Baptist Temple where she attended for over 65 years. In her spare time, she loved going to Amish Country and antiquing which she did frequently with her husband, Joe. She will be deeply missed by her sons, Joseph (Jane) Brownlee, Jeffrey (Allicia) Brownlee and Jason (Rebecca) Brownlee; grandchildren Ben, Kirsten, Elizabeth (Eric), Emily (Zack), Andrew, Robert, Jadon and Jaylynn; great-grandchildren Isaac, Klara and Charlotte; and her sister Pat Dretke. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Brownlee. The family would like to Dr. Don Zimmerman for his compassion and care. The family is arranging services for Betty on June 14, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Canton Baptist Temple. They will receive friends starting at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: St. Jude Children's Hospital.
