Betty Jean Kitt

Betty Jean Kitt, 86, of Massillon, passed away on February 5, 2023. She was born on December 21, 1936 to the late Freelin and Mary (Crabtree) Thompson at Fort Gay, WV.

She married Harold Kitt on December 30, 1961 and they shared almost 36 years together until his passing in 1997.

Betty worked as a Quality Control Inspector for Timken for 30 years until her retirement. She spent most of her adult life in Massillon and considered this her home. Her passion was her garden and growing flowers. Betty enjoyed watching hummingbirds. She was a hard worker, independent and very devoted to her family. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Johanna (Charlie) Brinkman and Barbra K. (Troy) Havens; including her grandchildren, Jordan, Emily, Sean, Kylie, Alex and Ryan. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 09, 2023 from 6-8p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon, Ohio and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday, February 10, 2023 with the service beginning at 11a.m. Donations in Betty's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice.
