Betty Jean Demando

Betty Jean DeMando, age 89, of Massillon passed away Friday, July 17th, 2020. Betty was born December 22, 1930 to the late Harold and Margaret Burch. Betty will continue to be treasured by everyone’s lives she touched for her kind heart, exceptional food and feisty spirit. She retired from Kroger, developed a successful real estate career and was a valuable member of community organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Frank DeMando. They were lifelong avid Massillon Tiger fans. Their greatest joy was attending their grandchildren’s and great-grand children’s sporting events. Her family was her true happiness. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved brother Harold Burch, Jr. and survived by her brother Dennis Burch. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Linda and Lloyd Morton; two grandchildren, Cherie (David) Elledge and Ryan (Elizabeth) Morton; and four great-grandchildren, Josh, Drew, Cole and Lehnon. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are also strongly encouraged. If you are not feeling well, or if you have compromised immune system, you are encouraged to stay home.
