Betty Jane Grier "Mamaw", age 75, of Massillon, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 22, 2013. Betty was born on July 3, 1938 in Massillon. She was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School; she loved to travel and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Massillon and enjoyed praising the Lord. She retired from the Timken Co. in 1984 after 19 years of service. She was also a member of the United Steelworkers Union. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Harper and Mary L. Grier; brothers, Raymond and Fred Grier; great grandson, Elyjah K. Moore and special cousins Loretta, Dorothy and Richard Henderson. She is survived by her son and his wife, Bob and Sharon Grier; her granddaughters, Kristy and her husband Donny Clark, Summer Grier, Katina Spells, Karen Smith, and Ebonique Richardson; her grandsons, Rico and Joey Spells; her brother, Robert W. Grier, Sr. and his wife Dottie of Wexford, PA; special friends, Lucille Howell and Mae Pearl Crable; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. A Celebration of Betty's life will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Fr. Raymond Paul will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11- 1 p.m. on Monday.
