Betty J. Getz

Betty M. Getz, age 88 of Massillon, died Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Legends Care Center. She was born on December 8, 1918 in Logan, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Charles & Estella Rowe. She was an area resident for most of her life. She had been employed at MCA Sign and was a member of Grace United Church of Christ for 60 years. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Getz on May 25, 1982, her daughter Dorothy M. Getz, and her sisters, Margaret McDonald and Mary Baker. She is survived by her daughter Carol (Bill) Frantz of Dalton, her grandchildren, Rick Frantz, Bill Frantz, Jr., Brenda Gill and Cathy Lane, 11 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and her sister, Ruth (Charles) Chaffin. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Grace United Church of Christ with Rev. Barry Stirbens officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call at the church one hour before the service on Thursday. Donations may be made to the Paquelet Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
