Betty J. Fox, age 80 of Massillon, died Saturday evening following a brief illness. She was born on August 2, 1926 in Greensburg, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Samuel & Sylvia (Smith) Hill. She grew up on a farm in Lawrence Township and had lived in Massillon for most of her life. She was a graduate of Canal Fulton High School and was a society writer for the Evening Independent in Massillon before starting her family. In 1960, she and her husband, Robert B. Fox, established R.B. Fox Heating, Inc. in Massillon and she continued working as the company’s secretary-treasurer until the time of her death. She was a licensed private pilot and enjoyed gardening, vacationing in South Palm Beach, FL and raising her Boston Terriers. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter and Gilbert Hill. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert B. Fox; her daughter, Marla A. Fox of Massillon; her son and daughter-in-law, Craig R. and Kathy J. Fox of Perry Township; her three beloved grandsons, Brian R., Matthew R., and Bradley R. Fox; and her two sisters, Frances Glenn of Hinsdale, IL and Dolly Gyenge of Akron, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home.
