Betty J. Brown

Betty J. Brown age 84 of Massillon passed away Thursday September 17, at Western Reserve Hospice. Betty was born March 2, 1931 in Massillon to the late Theodore & Ola Bell (Carter) Jones. Mrs. Brown retired from the Hoover Company. Betty was an avid sports fan, most notably The Ohio State Buckeyes. She was a political/news junkie and was proud of the Barack Obama First Family. She was a voracious reader and took pride in her flower garden. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Brown and her brother, Theodore Jones Jr. Mrs. Brown has three daughters: Saundra Mitchal, Marsha (Merrick) Malone and Linda (Harold) Cochran; a sister Martha Lee (Claude) Shuler and her nephew Ronald Shuler. There are three granddaughters: Shannon Holland, Courtney Cochran and Taylor Cochran. She is also survived by a host of cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Brown will be Noon Wednesday (September 23rd) at St. James AME Church. Rev. Martin will officiate. Her final resting place will be Oakwood Cemetery.
