Betty Farrenkopf, age 88 of Perry Township passed away Thursday May 6 at Rose Lane Health Center surrounded by family. Betty was born January 7, 1922 in Canton to the late Michael & Helen (Kovany) Nemeth. She attended McKinley High School and Kent State University. She was a retired nurse, dedicated to her life’s work caring for others. Betty loved her faith, family and friends. She enjoyed spending time dancing, gardening and being with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Louis and Steve Nemeth, and her infant son. Betty will be deeply missed by her two daughters and their spouses; Kathleen & James McLaughlin of Jackson Township, Joan Farrenkopf & Al Winters of Wilmington, North Carolina. She leaves two grandchildren and their spouses; Sean & Julia McLaughlin of Uniontown, Maureen & Patrick Ater of Jackson Township. Three great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws, cousins and close friends. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Wales Road on Sunday, May 9, 2010, from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Monday, May 10, 2010 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Perry Township. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The procession will form at the church.
