Betty D. Johnson

Betty D. Johnson, 89 of Massillon, passed away Wednesday at Chapel Hill Community in Canal Fulton. She was born on August 13, 1920 in Massillon, to the late Lee Roy and Violet Hawk. Betty was a lifelong resident of Massillon. She was a member of St. Jacobs Lutheran Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Johnson in 1984; her sister, Noreen Moyer; brothers, Elroy and William Hawk. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Frederick & Marge Johnson of Navarre, Ted & Jayne Johnson and Sage Ann & Robert Walnoha both of Massillon; her sisters, Violet & Maurice Luke of Canton and Carol Hawk of Massillon; her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Hawk of Ripley Park, PA; four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 11:30 AM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Pastor Sandy Hutchinson, Officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
