Betty Claire Dennis

Betty Claire Dennis, 93, of Massillon, passed away on August 27, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on February 15, 1931 to the late Ernest and Mary (Wilhelm) Jacobs in Massillon, OH.

She attended Washington High School and worked as a Nurses Aide at Massillon State Hospital, a Meter Maid for the Massillon Police Department, and at various area clubs. Betty was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, The Massillon Eagles Auxiliary, where she served as past president and as a State President. She was also a member of the Lincoln Ladies Chorus. Betty was known for her fashion sense.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Dianna "Dee Dee" (Tom) Marcovechio and Judy (Bill) DeHoff; grandchildren, Sherry Gatsios, Joe (Suzi) DeHoff, Mike DeHoff, Randy DeHoff, Jason Adams, and Heather Adams; great-grandchildren, Drew, Ty, Cassidy, Reagan, Brett, Mitchell, Marcus, and Derek "Bear"; brother, Sonny Jacobs; and many nieces, nephews and cousin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Dennis; daughter, Wendy L. Palmer; and fourteen siblings.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2024, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon with a funeral service at11:00 am with Pastor Tim Mishler, officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
