Betty A. Edwards

Betty A. Edwards, 96, of Massillon, passed away on October 23, 2022. She was born on December 03, 1925 in Massillon, to the late Perry and Mayme (Tombow) Angstadt. She was a 1943 graduate of Washington High School and later earned an Associates Degree at the University of California Irvine in Early Childhood Education. She was married to Wendell Edwards on August 07, 1945 until his passing in 2005.

Betty retired as the Director of Services from the Red Cross. She was interested in and participate in many activities. A life long love of horses - She rode in events for pleasure and never lost the thrill of watching a horse in action! In addition she enjoyed reading and research, the arts, curiosity of the ancient world, traveling, gardening and genealogy.

She is survived by her sons Morgan Edwards and Evan (Mark Graybill) R. Edwards; her grandchildren Rhys Edwards and Caden Edwards. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother Norman Angstadt; and her faithful horse Pepper.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. In keeping with Betty's love of preserving history donations be made to the Massillon Museum.
