Bettie J. King

Bettie J. King, 70 of Massillon, completed her earthly duties and has went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 16, 2012. She was born on January 1, 1942 in Massillon to the late William & Johnsie L (Jackson) Rice. She was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church and attended Washington High School. Bettie is survived by her four children, Cassandra Wisdom of Canton, Lillian King Jackson of Massillon, Rodney (Dwanna) Wisdom of Atlanta , GA and Eric King of Massilon; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; four brothers, William (Arbuna) Rice Jr. of Canton, James Wilkins of TX, Stevie Wilkins of Cincinnati, Paul Hardy of Memphis, TN; five sisters, Turranna Rice of Massillon, Angela Rice Borden of CA, Rhonda Smiley of Cincinnati, Semmie Jean Flory of Myrtle Beach, Claire Staples of Columbus; two step-mothers, Joyce Moxley of Cincinnatti and Grace Rice of CA; a host of foster children and very special nieces and nephews, and special friends, Mary Calhoun and Betty Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emlin C. King in 2007; her son, Emlin C. King II in 2010; three sisters, Dianna Nelson, JoAnne Barnes, Helen Parker, Joyce Hardy; two brothers, Edward Rice Sr., and James Rice. Friends may call at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday from 9:00AM -11:00AM with funeral services held at 11:00AM., the Rev. Robert Williams, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
