Beth Collings, age 72, passed away on June 14, 2016. She was born on July 30, 1943 to the late William and Maxine (Flaherty) Lease. She was a 1961 graduate of Washington High School, where she was the first female to play the big bass drum in the Massillon Tiger Swing Band. She married Jerry Collings on July 27, 1963. Beth was a long time resident of Jackson Twp. She worked as a Bus Driver and Bus Coordinator for Northwest Local Schools for 35 years until her retirement. She was a member of Legacy Chapter # 596 of the Eastern Star and a Past Worthy Matron. She is survived by her children Connie (Dirk Elsass) Collings and Andy Collings; her brothers Bryan (Dalene) Lease and Samuel (Beth) Lease; mother-in-law Evelyn Collings; a niece Amy Collings; great-nephew Ryan Collings and a host of other nieces and nephews; lifelong best friend Connie Crabtree. She was preceded in death by her husband. A Service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 3p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Pastor Edd Matako will be officiating. Visitation 1-3p.m. Interment at Canal Fulton Cemetery. An Eastern Star service will be held at 12:30p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family to help defray medical expenses.
