Bertha M. Godby

Bertha M. Godby, 83, of Massillon, went to be with Her Lord and Savior on February 8, 2025. 

She was born on May 11, 1941 to the late Edgar and Ethel (Darrah) Rush in Belmont County, OH.

She retired from Massillon State Hospital. She enjoyed playing guitar and singing in Gospel groups and appeared several times on the Trinity Broadcasting programs. Bertha loved her grandchildren and her cats. She will be greatly missed. 

Bertha is survived by her loving children, Ron (Linda) Earp and Deb Haymond; grandchildren, Tyler Earp and Amy (Joe) Crawford; great-grandchildren, Avarie, Braxton, and Ariana; siblings, Frances Palmer and Elmer Rush; sister-in-law, Susan Rush; and best friends, Wanda (Bud) Lewis. 

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James E. Earp, Calvin Haymond, Drew Runner, and Frederick E. Godby; and siblings, Cecil Rush, Ira Rush, Harold Rush, Jessie Brady, Alberta Stackhouse, Dessi Coffey, and Thelma Allen.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 10:00 am-11:00 am, at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon, with a graveside service at 11:00 am at Sunset Hills Burial Park, with Pastor Cecil Farmer, officiating.
