Bernard L. "Barney" Wallace, 89 of Massillon, passed away at his granddaughter, Jacy Frey's home on Saturday, March 23, 2013. He was born on February 4, 1924 and was the son of the late Urban and Claire Wallace. Following high school, Barney served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an avid golfer and loved the Massillon Tigers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He played football for Massillon Tigers on two state championship teams under Paul Brown and at Baldwin-Wallace College. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Wallace in 2003 and his brothers, Bill and Bob Wallace. He is survived by his daughters, Becky (Butch) Hose and Cindy (Louie) Chevalier. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jacy (Stefan) Frey, Jennifer (Adam) Klinger, Jamee (Jason) Perich and Josh (Lindsay) Hose and his grandchildren, Brent, Sam, Noah, Elijah, Hannah, Alexandria, Teagan, Eylee, Landon and Cori. His cremated remains along with his wife's cremated remains will be entombed in the columbarium at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with full military honors.
