Benjamin F. Harris

Benjamin F. Harris, age 81 of Massillon, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Wooster Community Hospital. He was born on June 9, 1928 in Staton, WV the son of the late Alex and Bessie Harris. Benjamin was a lifelong resident of Massillon. He had worked for Republic Steel in Cleveland as a millwright for 32 years before retiring in 1990. He enjoyed his grandchildren and his neighbors and his loving dog, “Gidget”. He loved to help people in need and working on anything mechanical. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by, his wife, Wanda Harris in 1995, his son, David Harris in 2006, 1 brother and 4 sisters. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Sherry (Jim) Chupp of Massillon, Carol (Rusty) Ferguson of Dennison, Paulette Gill (fiancée Tay Yoho) of Dalton, Chad Harris (Lynell) of N. Lawrence; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; his sister Liz Hawkey of Athens, WV. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. There will be no funeral service.
