Barbara L. Marton

Barbara L. Marton age 68 of Massillon passed away Friday February 5, 2010 at Affinity Medical Center. Barbara was born June 29, 1941 in Massillon to the late Thomas & Lorene (McInnis) Marton. A life resident of Massillon she was employed at several Dry Cleaners and then at the Massillon State Hospital. She was an avid reader and on a first name basis with the Massillon Public Library. Barbara crocheted many afghans and shared them with family and friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apple of her eye. Barbara was a proud 25 year survivor of Breast Cancer. Barbara will be dearly missed by her three daughters: Deborah (Pete) Dehnke of Massillon, Dana Witmer of Green and Dorette Carver of Massillon. She has eight grandchildren: Josh (Katie), T.J., Jonathon Dehnke; Christopher & Brittany Lewis; Ashley & Lynn Carver; and three great grandchildren. She has two sisters and a brother: Ruth Ann Dean, Mary Murray and Frank Marton. And her very best friend, Ella Kirkland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon, her pastor Fr. Raymond Paul will officiate. Her final resting place will be with her family at Brookfield Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 PM Tuesday and from 9 AM Wednesday until 9:45 AM at the funeral home.
