Barbara J. Dillen, age 87 of Massillon, passed away on March 19, 2022. She was born in Massillon on April 20, 1934 to the late Floyd and Inez (Luttrell) Bennett. She was a 1952 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. She married Joseph E. Dillen on Easter Sunday, April 10, 1955 and they shared 49 years together until his passing in 2004. Barbara worked as Bookkeeper at the Massillon Buick Garage, and later as Treasurer of the Epworth United Methodist Church and Daycare, but her most important job was as a wife and a mother taking care of her family. She enjoyed playing cards, cross stitch, jigsaw, and word puzzles and watching her game shows. Barbara was a lifelong member of Epworth United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her church family and the United Methodist Women, serving in the choir, and coordinating the Prayer Line for members of the congregation. She will forever be remembered for her positivity and being upbeat; her sense of humor and most importantly her strong faith. She is survived by her children Joey Dillen, Joanie and son-in-law Terry Siber and Janice; her brother Augie (Vicki) Bennett; her sister Mary (Gene) Mishler; sisters-in-law Catherine (Jim) Bintliff, Christie Davis, Judy Bennett and Jackie Bennett and a host of family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her son Jerold Dillen; her brothers Frank Bennett and Howard Bennett and her sisters Judy Lucas and Marjorie Pettit. A Celebration of her life will be held at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral home on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 11:00a.m. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 6-8p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Donations can be made in Barbara’s memory to Epworth United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice with a special shout out to Ashley and Rachelle for Barbara’s exceptional care during her illness.
