Barbara Jean Owens

Barbara J. Owens, 72 surrounded by her family, went home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2012. She was born the 10th of 11 sibblings in Yazoo City, Mississippi, on September 11, 1939 to the late William Clifton Vincent and Willie (Ward) Vincent. Barbara was employed by Camelot Music for over 20 years until her retirement. She also worked in the home health care profession for several years. She was a longtime faithful member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Massillon. She was also a member of Church Women United of Massillon. She is survived by her husband Phalandas. Her 2 sons Frederick Owens, and Mark (Donetta) Owens, 6 grandchildren Jamarr Harris, Ebony Blake, Richard Arrington, Kambrelle Smith, Miracle Owen, Annecia Owen, and 4 great-grandchildren, Makayla Harris, Saliyan Harris, Mamille Harris, and Damiyah Arrington, 1 brother, Oliver T. Vincent and 4 sisters, Elma Jones, Mildred Campbell, Lossie Ellington, and Bernice Allen. A Home Going Celebration will be held at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Massillon on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 12 noon, Pastor Joseph Harkless, officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Donations can be made in Barbara's memory to Feed the Children, P.O.
