Barbara Jacobs

Barbara N. Jacobs, age 74, of Massillon, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 14, 1936 in Floydada, TX the daughter of the late Alpha O. and Mabel A. (Black) McAda. Barbara was a graduate of Floydada High School (1954), and the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Lubbock, TX (1961). She moved to Massillon in 1967 and worked for 40 years as a Registered Nurse for Massillon Community Hospital. Barbara loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, crocheting, reading, playing games and cards, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She also loved her dogs, and was well known for making the world’s best Christmas cookies. Barbara married Roger Jacobs September 9, 1962 having just celebrated 48 years of marriage. He survives along with their children Dr. Gary (Cynthia) Jacobs of Massillon, Cary Jacobs of Russiaville, IN, and Sharon Jacobs of Canton; grandchildren Allison, Michael, Bethany, Courtney, and MacKenzie; sisters Ima Ruth Ray of Amarillo, TX, and LaJuana Faye Cooper of Ruidoso, NM; brother Cecil Darnell McAda. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one brother Billie Ray McAda, and one sister Opal Lorretta Cargill. Visitation will be Tuesday November 9th from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd. NE. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations in Barbara’s memory may be given to The CJD Foundation, P.O.
