Barbara I. Amburgey

Barbara I. Amburgey, 71, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018, following a brief illness. She was born in Cleveland on April 30, 1946 to the late Jack and Vivian (Watson) Williams. Barbara was a graduate of Washington High School and Stark State College. She was a proof reader at the Massillon Independent for many years and also worked at Buckeye Color Labs. She was President of the Massillon Genealogy Society and served as a board member for The Stark County Family Court Citizen Review Board. Barbara loved to travel and had visited 48 states. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed photography. She is survived by her husband, Ronald C. Amburgey, whom she married on December 24, 1964; children, Sheryl (Harry VanVliet) Amburgey of Manchester, MD, Douglas (Monica) Amburgey of Massillon and Jessica (Kevin) Ryan of Silver Hill , AL; six grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; brother, John (Carla) Williams; and sister, Joyce (Ed) Devaul. She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Amburgey. Friends and family may call at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Wensday, May 2, 2018 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
