Barbara Dumitru

Barbara Dumitru, age 86 of Massillon, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Inn at University Village with her son and daughter-in-law beside her. Mrs. Dumitru was born on October 27, 1927 in Massillon the daughter of Frank and Mary (Stepetich) Stepetich. She was a lifelong resident of Massillon and graduated from Washington High School. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Parish. Barbara was a home care giver for many years. She loved baking various pastries and doting on her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her friendship, loyalty, hard work and her dignity in the face of adversity. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Daniel T. Dumitru in 2009; her infant sister, Manda; and her brothers Peter and John Stepetich. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dr. Daniel & Cyra Dumitru and her grandchildren, Cyra A. Dumitru & Daniel A. Dumitru all of San Antonio, TX. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 10 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon. Fr. Raymond Paul will be Officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
