Barbara Consolidani, 92, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016, following a brief illness. She was born in Potashnia, Ukraine to the late Roman and Alexandra Ostapenko. Barbara was a survivor of German Forced Child Labor Camps during World War II and then immigrated to the United States. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, Lora (John) Popovich and Lisa (James Decker) Consolidani both of Massillon; two grandsons, Andrew and Austin; Godson, Walter Pechenuk of Akron, best friend of 64 years, Ursula Spurlock; and a host of extended family members. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Armando Consolidani; two brothers, Stephan and Peter; sister, Maria and a good friend, Gertrude Sawatski. Friends may call at St. Barbara's Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 9:00am-10:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Fr. Brian Cline at 10:00am.
