Barbara Ann Crooks

Barbara "Bobbie" Ann Crooks, 89, formerly of Massillon, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Kingston of Ashland. She was born on August 21, 1927 in Carlisle, Kentucky to Samuel W. and Lena R. (Williams) Dean. She married Rev. Paul Crooks on June 6, 1948. They shared 56 loving years together before his passing on June 6, 2004. Bobbie attended Asbury University where she received her Bachelor of Education degree. After college, she taught as a high school English teacher and substitute teacher for almost 20 years. In her spare time, Bobbie loved reading historical fiction novels and spending time with her two sisters. Bobbie's greatest passion in life, however, was being a pastor's wife and her strong, dedication to the ministry. Her intelligence, organization and great sense of humor will be missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her sons, Rick (Linda) Crooks, Russ (Sandi) Crooks and Rod (Gail) Crooks; sisters, Addie Stokley and Mary Brunstetter; grandchildren, Jared (Sonja) Crooks, Justin (Sara) Crooks, Jamie (Stan) Vaughn, Ryan (Krysta) Crooks, Jeremy Crooks, Nathaniel Crooks, Alexa Crooks, Ashley (David) Henderson, Casey (Bryant) Lewellyn, David (Corrine) Crooks, Allie Reynolds, Mary Reynolds and Zach Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Wesley, Moses, Elliot, Elijah, Cole, Luke, Jedidiah, Faith and Layla. In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Paul Crooks, sister, Hazel Laswell and brothers, Walter and Charles Dean. The family will receive friends on April 5, 2017 from 10-Noon at the Paquelet and Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral Services will follow at noon with Rev. Paul Brunstetter officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr, Ashland, OH 44805.
