September 2, 1947 — January 28, 2019

Barbara Ann Byer, 71, passed away surrounded by her family on January 28, 2019 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 2, 1947 in Massillon to the late Robert and Lucille (Oliver) Taylor. Barbara retired from the Heinz Company and was a member of The Son’s and Daughter’s of Herman. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed gardening and animals. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Byer, whom she married on October 15, 1966; their children, Richard (Julie) Byer and Timothy (Teresa) Byer; six grandchildren, Cory, Ashlee and Brayden Byer and Jeremy Simmons, Skylar Snyder and Garret Mills; great-grandson, Nash; a sister, Marlene (David) Fisher; and nephews, Vernon and Michael. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6pm-8pm with funeral services on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 10:30am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Brookfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Stark County Humane Society.
