Aurelia (Datesh) Stacy, age 73, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2023 after a hard fought battle with Merkel Cell Carcinoma.
She was born June 19, 1949 to Silvius and Janice Datesh. Family welcoming her into Heaven are her parents; in-laws, Watson and Allie Stacy; sister-in-law(Kay) and three brothers-in-law (Bill, Jim, and Tim).
Among those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 56 years, Larry Stacy; her devoted daughter, Danielle (Gregg) Elliott; beautiful granddaughters, Emma and Delainna; sisters Melinda Shackle and Debbie (Jeff) Poland; brother Sam Datesh (Rose Fearon); sisters-in-law, Barbara Theissen and Tawnya (Isaac) Russell; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Marcia Comer.
Aurelia graduated early from Lincoln High School to marry Larry and live in Italy where he was stationed for two years in the Navy. After returning, she worked at Danner Press printing company many years before it closed. In their younger years, she and Larry camped, boated, and skied at Salt Fork and Muskingum. They also belonged to the Buckeye Corvette Club in Canton. Later, they enjoyed several years at Springwood Lake Camp Club and spent the winter months in Sarasota, Florida. In her spare time, Aurelia was an avid reader and also delighted in walking outdoors daily. She cherished time with her daughter and granddaughters and took great pleasure in spoiling them. A caregiver by nature, Aurelia was always willing to lend a hand.
Special thanks to the kind staff at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa and Crossroads Hospice in Canton who helped keep her comfortably surrounded by family at home for her final days.
