Augie Martin Rodgers, age 68 passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 2014. He was born in Massillon on December 28, 1945 to Mary Simon Rodgers Oliver and the late Andrew Rodgers. He was a graduate of Washington High School. He married Cheryl Compan on July 25, 1987 and they shared 37 loving years together and she survives him. Augie served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War in a Special Forces Commando Unit, and as an aircraft mechanic. He was the owner of Augie's Import America – Parts and Service for 47 years. Augie loved animals, was an avid reader and traveling with his wife. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons; William "Bill" (Valerie) Rodgers and Michael Rodgers; his grandchildren Jacob, Taylor and Cody Rodgers; His mother Mary Rodgers Oliver; his sisters Rosemary (James) Simm and Gloria (George) Pinnis and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Andrew Rodgers and his beloved German Shepherd Barron. A Celebration of his life will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11 A.M. There will be no calling hours.
