Audrey M. "Lola" Turner

Audrey M. "Lola" Turner, 66, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Massillon. She was born on October 10, 1948 in Fredericksburg, VA to the late George & Juanita Armstead. Lola was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1966. She worked at Massillon Republic Steel for nearly 30 years until plant shutdown in December 2002, then went on to work for Harry London until she retired in October 2010. She was a dedicated member of The Jesus Spot Church family and served as Kitchen Ministry leader until her illness. She is survived by her long-term companion Darnell Streeter and his six children (special daughter Damonda Streeter); three children, Tyrone (Jennifer) Turner, Denise Roberson and Marcus (Ashley) Turner all of Massillon; seven grandchildren, Ashley(Joe), Nikki, Skyler, Khyree, Treviere, Jacar and Arianna; five great-grandchildren, Joesph, Rayn "Butterfly", Jaida "Ladybug", Khyree jr., and Ahlee; a brother, Stewart (Deidra) Price of Pennsylvania; two nephews, Michael Armstead and Rodney "German" Thompson; and a niece, Shana Thompson; additional family Mark (Renee) Streeter, Marcy (Willie) Streeter-Wiggins, and Vanita Oliver; Special friends Debbie Freeman, Yvonne Daniels, Janet (Chicken) Batiste, and The Colored Women of Steel: Mintha Ware, Michelle Pettis, and "Cookie" Vasser. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley "Ann" Thompson and a nephew Mychal Armstead. Family and friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. A Home Going Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:00AM, Rev. Robert Williams, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
