Arthur M. Jones, age 85 of Massillon, died on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. He was born on October 19, 1926 in Massillon and was the son of the late Arthur and Lucy (Byers) Jones. Following graduation from Washington High School, he served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Ingraham in the South Pacific Campaign during the invasions of the Philippines, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He also participated in the first post war atomic bomb testing at Bikini. Art was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, a life member of American Legion Post 221, the V.F.W Post 3124, the D.A.V. and the National Association of Atomic Veterans. He was a former member of the Massillon Lion's Club. Art retired from Hudson Local Schools where he was a teacher and had worked at G.G. Grim in Dalton, OH Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Lois Jones in 1993 and Helen Jones in 2007. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca J. (Roy) Bair, his granddaughters, Cynthia Enfinger and Jennifer Lint and his sister Bertha Tyler. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Elaina Styblo officiating. Burial will follow at Massillon Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home from 5-8 P.M. and on Friday at the church from 11-1 PM. P
