Arthur Blaine Wolgamott age 94 of Massillon, passed away Saturday morning at Chapel Hill Community in Canal Fulton. He was born on June 25, 1914 in Coshocton to the late Byron and Rose (Philabaum) Wolgamott and was a Massillon resident most of his life. Arthur retired from Ohio Paper Products in 1979 following 48 years of service as a machinist. He was a member of Newman Baptist Church since 1937. Arthur enjoyed farming. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Opal Irene (Barr) Wolgamott who passed away on January 12, 1975; brothers, Robert and Chester Wolgamott; granddaughter, Deanna Wolgamott; great granddaughter, Ashley Wolgamott and a sister, Pauline Rohr. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, LaVerne A. (Jean) Wolgamott and Merle D. (Karla) Wolgamott both of Massillon; grandchildren, Jason Wolgamott of Massillon, Lynette (David) Roberts of Massillon, Tiffany Motz of Canton, Coreen (Vance) Hardman of Massillon, Donald (Tammy) Wolgamott of Massillon; great grandchildren, Sam, Zach, Tessa, Ben, Jenna, Katie, Jeremy, Ruby, Gabrieal, Amelia (J.D.) Wolfe, Aaron and Amanda Hardman, Michael Wolgamott; great great grandson, James Vance Wolfe; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane and Elaine Wolgamott and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services celebrating Arthur’s life will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Arnold – Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon with Rev. Dennis McDonald officiating. Calling hours will be Monday 6:00 – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. Interment will take place following the services at Sunset Hills Burial Park in Canton.
