Arden L. Loretto

Arden L. Loretto age 76 of Massillon passed away April 18, 2011 at Aultman Hospital. He was born October 8, 1934 in Massillon to the late Dominick & Helen (Stevenson) Loretto. He was a 1953 graduate of Navarre High School. Art was employed for 25 years at Tyson Co. and also he and his brother owned and operated the Loretto Brothers Cement Company. After Tyson Company closed he worked at Walsh University where he retired. Art would spend his happiest time fishing on Lake Erie. Early on in his life, he discovered fishing and was forever hooked. Among the highlights of his many fishing tales, there were never enough fish, nor hours in the day for him and his friends to catch them. When at Lake Erie on his boat ‘Rose Bud’ he loved going to Kelley’s Island with family. Family and friends were the recipients of his bountiful garden which produced tomatoes, peppers and swiss chard. He also enjoyed bowling on a league. But he was happiest in the company of those he loved. In addition to his parents a brother William Loretto passed away in 2008. Arden is survived by his wife Rose (Broglio) with whom he would have shared 54 years of marriage on May 18th; two children and their spouses, Kimberly & John Lychos of Novi, MI and Douglas & Elizabeth Loretto of Vernon Hills, IL.; 3 grandchildren, Melissa, Emily and Derek and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his beloved Jack Russell, ‘Peede’. A Celebration of Arden Loretto’s life will be 2 PM Saturday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Friends may call from 1 PM until the time of the service.
