Anthony James "Teejay" Marcoccia

January 2, 1949 — February 21, 2022

Anthony James “Teejay” Marcoccia, 73, passed away on February 21, 2022, following an extended illness. He was born in Elmira, NY to Anthony J. and Opal (See) Marcoccia on January 2, 1949. He was a 1967 graduate of Horseheads High School in Horseheads, NY and received an A.S. in Criminal Justice from Kent State-Stark. He was a United States Army veteran serving in Vietnam from 1968-1971. Anthony joined the Massillon Police Department in 1973 and worked there until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of The American Legion, Eagles 190, and the F.O.P.. He was dedicated to his family and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He also enjoyed going on cruises and camping. Anthony is survived by his wife, Sandra (Comfort) Marcoccia, whom he married in 1968; their children, Jennifer (Lance) Burick and Tara Marcoccia; grandchildren, Jade Griffith and her fiance Jamie, Jacob Griffith and Micah Bailey; siblings, Thomas (Rose) Chapman, Gary (Linda) Marcoccia and Patti (Dan) O’Connell. As well as several nieces and nephews and lifelong friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Nancy Chapman. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 6pm-8pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home.
