Ansel E. Shoaf, Jr., age 84, of Massillon, went to be with the LORD on December 20, 2018, following a long illness. He was born in LaGrange, Georgia, on February 27, 1934; a son to the late Ansel and Edna Shoaf. He retired from Bertolli Olive Oil after a long career as National Sales Manager. He also served 4 years in the U.S. Army. Ansel was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer. He loved flying and had his private pilot license. He had a witty sense of humor and enjoyed his limericks. He was a passionate Ohio State fan. He was also a world traveller and enjoyed his beach vacations with his family. Ansel’s family was his pride and joy, as well as his pastor and church family at the Central Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Beverly Shoaf of 49 years. Ansel is survived by 3 daughters Tammy (Bob) Pribanic, Cindy Shoaf, Linda (Shawn) Phillips; son Stephen (Jill) Shoaf; 12 grandchildren Amber, Stephanie, Chelsie, Kalie, Dante, Tristan, Brandon, Cody, Kyle, Ryan, Tracy, and Jaime; 5 great-grandchildren Scarlett, Reid, Wells, Oliver, and Theodore; sister Pamela Barnes; brother Kenneth Shoaf; and several nieces and nephews. Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Friday, December 28, 2018, at the Central Presbyterian Church with Rev. Larry Lalama officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the Paquelet Funeral Home; and also from 10-11 am Friday at the church. Burial will take place at Northlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 47 - 2nd Street NE, Massillon, Ohio 44646.
