Annie R. Wiggins age 92 of Massillon went home to be with the Lord on Thursday September 2, 2010 at her residence. Annie was born July 9, 1918 in Melvin, AL to the late Elliott & Lillian (Kirksey) Young Sr. In 1938 she married the late Sims James and moved to Massillon; in addition to Mr. James she was preceded in death by three sisters, Areatha Sheffield, Kathalene Coles and Dorothy Upshaw; four brothers, Emerson, Leroy, George and L.C. Young. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church in Massillon. Annie was dedicated to her family, loved to cook and was known for her charity and hospitality. Family reunions were a highlight in her life. In July she made a point to be released from the hospital to attend her last reunion. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of sixty years, Leonard Wiggins; four children and their spouses, Robert (Priscilla) James of Aurora, CO, Carole (Cornelius) Clark of Massillon, Lisbon (Viola) James of Massillon and Wayne (Linda) Wiggins of Canton; five sisters, Sadie Lee of Philadelphia, PA, Thelma Robinson of Dalton, Barbara (William) Walker of Warren, Helen (Eloy) Lopes of Canton, Marion (Winfred) Young of Alliance; brother, Elliott (Jacqueline) Young of Cleveland; one aunt, Wilma Bradford of Akron; 21 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A Home Going for Annie Wiggins will be 11 AM Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church, her pastor Rev. Reginald Hye will officiate.
