Annie ‘Amparo’ Lopez age 84 of Massillon passed away Thursday November 12, 2009 at her home. Annie was born August 28, 1925 in Midland, PA to the late Faustino & Juanita Garcia Lopez and moved to Massillon in 1945. Annie was a 47 years retired employee of Ekco Housewares. She was a member of the local steelworkers Union and chairman of the board of the retired Ekco employees breakfast club. In addition to her parents three brothers and three sisters all preceded her in death: Amalia, Suzana, Ernestina, Pedro, Santiago, Jesus all from Saltillo, Coahiula, Mexico. Annie is survived by her loving friend & companion, Carolyn Melito of the residence; nieces & nephews: Frank & Alvera Garcia of Canton, Chiefie & Sherri Garcia of Hampstead, NC, Bob & Janice Garcia of San Diego, Patty Boske of Massillon, and Maria Lichtenberger of San Marcos CA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 Noon Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Fiends may call Sunday 2 to 5 PM at the funeral home. We appreciate the help and support from family members’, wonderful friends and neighbors. The family would appreciate contribution to the American Cancer Society. The enormous out pouring of prayers and get well wishes is a living testimony to her life. A rich life filled with wonderful friends and beautiful memories that you all Blessed her with. She was a special person with a huge kind and caring heart. Laughter was her secret weapon. You would often hear people say that Annie Lopez was ‘The One and Only”. “I will dearly miss her every day. She was my loyal friend and companion for 30 years. I know in my heart that she will always be my Guardian Angel. My sweet Annie, may you rest in paradise with the angels.” Love Always Carolyn
