Anna Mae McClain

November 15, 1937 — January 14, 2025

Massillon

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which is the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."

Anna Mae McClain, 87, of Massillon went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 14, 2025. She was born on November 15, 1937 in Belburn, WV to Charley C. Boone and Effie A. {Grimmett} Boone.

Anna is preceded in death by her husband Frank McClain, daughter-in-law Becky McClain, her parents Charley C. Boone and Effie A. {Grimmett} Boone, 10 sisters, 4 brothers and a grandson.

She is survived by 4 children, Daphyne (Ruel Clyde) Fox, Annette (Steve) Barr, Kelista (Mike) Machamer and Frank "Jay" (Bernadette) McClain; 13 grandchildren, Ruel Fox III, Angela Wilson, Tiffanie Blaylock, Latasha Laney, Joshua Laney, Bryan Laney, Eric Putnam, Zack Putnam, Chelsea Putnam, Brittany Carreto, Dylan McClain, Antonia Upperman and Carlee McClain; 27 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Anna was a member of Apostolic Lighthouse Tabernacle for 54 years. As a cook for many years, she used this ability to bless children and teens by cooking for Apostolic Youth Camps. Anna sold homemade peanut brittle, raising funds to aid in providing medical and school supplies, clean water, Christmas parties and gifts for thousands of children in Liberia, Africa.

Her faithfulness to God and rich faith was known by all. She was known as “grandma” to a multitude of young people whose lives she influenced. We celebrate and rejoice over a life rich in faith, lived with selflessness and love.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 19th, 2025, from 6:30PM – 8:30PM and on Monday, January 20th, from 11AM – 12PM at the Lighthouse Tabernacle, 3120 Lincoln Way E.
