Anna Mae Peters, 78, left this world surrounded by her loving family on January 15, 2022. She was born in Canton on April 13, 1943 to the late Lester O. and Helen Mae (Burnell) Custer. Anna was a 1961 graduate of Perry High School and retired from Nickle’s Bakery in 1999. She loved to camp, have potlucks, play Texas Hold’Em and just spend her evenings filled with friends, family and laughter. She was a member of Trirosis of Stark County and supported Donate life Ohio as she herself was a recipient of a kidney transplant. Every year she paid it forward by taking an angel off the Salvation Army Angel Tree in memory of the angel who gave her a better quality of Life. She is survived by her life partner of 31 years, James Traynor; children, Scott O. (Brandi) Peters and Geneann (Miguel) Miranda; step-children, John Peters, Jeff Peters and Joe (Jennifer) Peters; 10 favorite grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister in law, Nancy Lashley; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Peters, Sr; and a brother, Charles Custer. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 2pm-4pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 10:30am in the funeral home, Charles M. Custer, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
