Ann Stanforth

Ann Stanforth, Age 93 Ann Stanforth of Navarre, OH, passed peacefully on December 19, 2021, surrounded by family at Altercare of Navarre. She was born January 22, 1928, in Youngstown, OH, to the late John Horvath and Marie Harcak, who emigrated from Czechoslovakia. She is survived by her children Cyndee Guerin, John (Maria) Stanforth, Carolyn (Manuel Rodriguez) Castroverde, and Tom (Kris Titko) Stanforth; grandchildren Casey Geier, Courtney Speer, Chelsey Winkhart, Bryan Stanforth, Andrew Stanforth, Melissa Stanforth, Victor Castroverde, Jordan Castroverde, Tyler Stanforth, Evan Stanforth, and Riley Stanforth; and great grandchildren Kaleigh, Dillan, London, Jackson, Isabella, Addison, Kennedy, Kaleb, Alexandra, A.J., Abigail, and Emilia. Ann graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. She then worked as a lab technician at Aultman Hospital, where she met and eventually married the love of her life Dr. James A. Stanforth. Ann was raised in the Eastern Orthodox Church and joined Zion Lutheran Church when she was married. In later years she was a faithful member of Emmanuel Christian Church, where she volunteered in the nursery and sang in the choir. After Ann raised her family, she worked in the lab at Mercy Medical Center as a phlebotomist for almost twenty years. Ann had a servant’s heart. Besides taking care of her family, she would visit church members in nursing homes and drive them to doctor’s appointments. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross bloodmobile for many years. Despite the obstacles she faced throughout her life, Ann’s faith remained steadfast, clinging to the promises of her favorite Bible passages. She was a selfless person, who would always speak blessings and build up others according to their needs. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers to please consider donating to the Missions Ministry at Stanwood Community Church. We will gather for a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 11 am at Stanwood Community Church, 14715 Stanwood Street SW, Navarre, OH 44662.
